BEING PREPARED IS THE FIRST STEP TOWARDS
SUCCESS
... the meaning of the motto is that a scout must prepare himself by previous thinking out and practicing how to act on any accident or emergency so that he is never taken by surprise. Robert Baden-Powell.
ABOUT US
Troop 118 is sponsored by Community Church of Davie and has been continuously run since 1958. This is a boy run troop. The boys determine the agenda and goals they want to accomplish and the adults help them achieve these goals. The success and achievement of these goals will also depend on the parent participation in the troop.

Our troop emphasizes outdoor activities and we go on approximately eight or more weekend camp outs each year. The weekly meetings are centered on skill acquisition and preparation for fishing, hiking, campfires etc. Our campsites are usually within range from our home base, however, we sometimes venture farther away. Our camping schedule and a general description of the camp -outs are a part of our annual calendar which can be found also on this website.

Our troop is one of many BSA units that draw members generally from Davie, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Southwest Ranches and Cooper City in Florida. We currently have about twenty five (25) boys active in the troop and new members are always welcome.
Boys must be at least 10 years old, finished the fifth grade or have earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light award before they can become a Boy Scout. We will be happy to supply the necessary sign up forms.
